Taylor Hill finished 3rd in his heat of the 800 in 2:18.91, just outside his pb. Jodie Hill produced a new pb of 2:24.74 to finish 4th. Holly Booker was 5th in her heat in 2:33.14.

Gold for Katie and Imani at Northern Athletics U15/U17, Middlesborough

Katie Palfreeman produced a strong front-running performance to win the U17W 1500m at the Northern Championships. Moving to the from after the opening lap, Katie kept the pace high to hold off the other runners and take the gold medal in 4:40.56 in windy conditions.

Imani Wilson travelled to Middlesborough in the hopes of a fast race to improve her 3k pb in her last race of the season. She was the only competitor in the U20W 3k and was left to time trial on her own (official time not available).

Tom Horton won the BMC B 1500m in fine style. Leading from the gun, Tom ran an impressive new pb of 3:48.08.

Joe Wilkinson also improved his pb to 3:48.82, finishing 9th in the BMC A 1500m.

Katie Palfreeman ran a new pb of 9:48.86, the 7th fastest U17W time in the UK this year, to finish 4th in her heat of the 3k. Hannah Fletcher ran strongly to finish 8th in 10:06.32. Imani Wilson also ran a new pb of 10:41.29 in 15th place.

Saskia Huxham dominated her heat of the 800m, leading from the gun and winning convincingly in 2:15.19.

Tom Selected to Represent England

Tom Horton has been selected to represent England in the 2l steeple chase at the inaugural Manchester International on Wednesday 17 August. The match will feature the home countries, a GB U20 team, the UK Armed Forces, and a combined British Athletics League and UK Women’s League team.

Hatti Wins British Mountain Running Trial, Keswick

Saturday 30 August

Hatti Archer produced an outstanding run to win the British Mountain Running Trial and Home International in Keswick. Hatti led from the start over the 7.7k course with 846m of ascent to win by a minute in 46.48.

Dave Archer, representing England, was 27th over the 11.3k course with 1080m of ascent.
