Andy Challenger led home the HHS athletes in the national 5k championships, finishing 26th with a new pb of 15:03. Connor Milnes improved his pb to 15:25 in 33rd and 1st U21. Zak Mellard was 51st in 16:02 with Ben Beattie, returning to fitness, 64th in 16:19.

Despite the very cold and blustery conditions, it was a very enjoyable and promising night at the opening Trafford meeting.
Cameron Bell produced an outstanding run to with the BMC A 800m race. Having followed the pace maker and leader through the bell, he showed an impressive kick at 250m to go, winning with a new pb 1:51.6.
Tom Horton also won the BMC A 1500m. Tom followed the leading group on the opening laps and then opened up a gap with a very fast last 300m to win in 3:52.11.
Imani Wilson opened her track season running in style, improving her 3k pb by 20 seconds. Imani paced the opening laps well and produced a very strong finish to take 13th In 10:22.36.
David Lewis looked strong and controlled in his heat of the 1500n. Having led for most of the race, he battled well down the finishing straight to take 3rd in 4:24.44, fractionally outside his pb.
Saskia Huxham took her heat of the 800m through the bell in 62 seconds. She ran strongly to finish in 2:14.17, again jUtd outside her pb.
Dylan Stevens ran very well in the U15 1500m. Showing good pace throughout the race, he finished 14th with a new pb of 4:54.6.

Andy Heyes make a fine start to the season finishing 9th in a high quality Boston AA 5k with a new pb of 13:47. He narrowly failed to catch Chris O’Hare on the line with Gebremeskel on 12 seconds ahead in 5th in a race won by Ben True in a new American national record.
